Cases of child abuse are always extremely difficult to hear about, and unfortunately they occur more often than not. The latest involves a Minnesota man who admitted to torturing his own two-month-old daughter. The sick man allegedly poured hot sauce in his daughter’s eyes, threw fireworks in her face, and did a slew of other heinous things to the infant.

Torture. An infant suffered horrendous abuse at the hands of her demented father, who tortured her because he “couldn’t handle her screams.” The child was rushed to the emergency room where she was treated for several injuries.

Abuse. According to the Daily Mail UK, 31-year-old Shawn Michael Foltz threw hot water on his daughter, threw fireworks in her face, and smeared her eyes with cayenne pepper and hot sauce. When she was taken to the hospital, doctors discovered bruises on her eyes, shoulders, and back.

Questioning. Initially, Foltz told investigators that his daughter’s bruises came from an older sibling, who had hit her with a toy water gun. However upon further questioning, he admitted that he was tired of hearing the infant cry and as a result, snapped her face with a towel and hit her with a wooden spoon.

Arrest. Foltz also told police that he would think of ways to troture and abuse his mother while he was at work. Foltz was arrested and charged with neglect of a child, malicious punishment of a child, and third-degree assault, reports the Daily Mail UK.

Custody. The infant is in the custody of her mother, while Foltz is being held on a $100,000 bond as he awaits his court date. It’s unclear where the child’s mother was when the abuse occurred.

Others. Unfortunately, this isn’t the only incident in which a parent has used hot sauce to torture or punish their children. A 36-year-old Alaskan woman named Jessica Beagley was arrested after she punished her adopted son by forcing him to hold hot sauce in his mouth.

Punishment. According to CBS News, Beagley had discovered that the seven-year-old boy had lied, and as result, chose to punish him with the hot sauce. Beagley was arrested after footage of the incident surfaced. She was charged with child abuse and sentenced to three years probation.

Video. Ironically, the woman had sent in the video to Dr. Phil in an attempt to get help for her unruly son, but due to the uproar it created, it ended up backfiring on her and went viral. Soon enough, it got the attention of the police.
