Bangs. Most guys feel slightly intimidated by a girl with bangs, apparently. Both Chaz and Gary agreed that there’s a bit of “unapproachability” with this hair style. Troy, however, disagreed, saying that it reminds him of pinup models as well as very focused career women. Go, Troy!
Wildly Curly Hair. One guy said, “It’s really 80s…” But, at the same time, a lot of guys also said that curly hair can be really attractive, particularly if it’s soft to the touch and shiny. Apparently, it’s all about length, too. Short curly hair was not really highly thought of, while long curls apparently rock.
The “Mom Bob.” Guys almost universally panned this look, saying that it looks like a “gross housewife” look. One guy even said that he associated the cut with a “negative, entitled attitude” because of his years in retail. You might want to skip this one if you’re looking to attract a mate.
Red Hair. Chaz explained that red hair is sexy because it stands out. It’s different, and that makes it more attractive. It seems to be that red is just the color of sexy for a lot of guys - to the point that some guys even fetishize it. He also added, “Isn’t Jessica Rabbit a redhead? That should tell you everything.”
Blonde Hair. Guys who we surveyed said that blonde hair often makes them feel like the girl will be more high maintenance and sophisticated. In other words, it’s definitely a hair color they would choose for a trophy girlfriend. One major exception was with girls with tattoos. “Blonde hair and tattoos just looks awesomely metal,” said Gary.
Brown Hair. In one study done by Garnier, 71% of guys said that they would want to marry a brunette. So, if you’re looking to settle down, dyeing your hair brown or black may be a good move - if you can pull it off. Black hair also fit under this category.
Unusual Hair Colors. Guys all agreed that they were all for it. “It’s unique,” said Chaz, who also added that he likes to see girls who are gutsy enough to try out new trends. Troy then added that it tends to make a girl more memorable, too. The only thing they ask is that the hair dye “doesn’t bleed onto clothes and bedsheets.”
