A 49-year-old Canadian nurse Elizabeth Wettlaufer has confessed to killing 'mean’ patients. Wettlaufer said she injected patients with deadly overdoses of insulin when she cared for patients who ranged in age from 75 to 90 in two Ontario facilities between 2007 and 2014. She is accused of killing eight patients, and defended her actions by claiming "God told her to" do it.
2007 to 2014. Elizabeth Wettlaufer was arrested for the deaths of eight elderly patients who were under her care. The deaths took place in Woodstock and Ontario, Canada,
Insulin. All of the patients died as a result of an overdose. Investigators originally did not specify which drug it was, but later disclosed that it was insulin.
Wettlaufer's employment history. Wettlaufer completed nursing school in 1995. She started working at the Caressant Care nursing home in Woodstock in 2007.
Meadow Park in London. Wettlaufer worked at Meadow Park in London for less than a lear. Wettlaufer's eighth and final victim died at Meadow Park.
The victims. The victims ranged in age from 75 to 96. They were six women and two men.
Other employers. On her Facebook page, Wettlaufer's current employer is listed as Lifeguard Homecare. She also did part-time work at Christian Horizons in Woodstock.
Cackling from the pit of hell. Wettlaufer confessed to her crimes while in police custody. She told police that after she injected a patient with a lethal dosage of insulin, she would release a cackle from the pit of hell.
Angel of death. Wettlaufer told investigators that she considered herself to be an angel of death. She was controlled by the angel and the devil, and one or the other would guide to as to whether a patient should live or die.
