Horrific. A Harris county deputy described the scene as "horrific." Reportedly, when Laquita Lewis was confronted with the death of her little girl, all she would say is "she's in heaven now."
The argument. Police have not released any information regarding the argument that Laquita Lewis had with her boyfriend earlier in the day which is believed to have upset Lewis to the point of attacking her child. It is unknown if he is Fredericka's father.
An angry rage. Sources told local news outlet KHOU that Lewis did indeed kill Fredericka Allen as an act of retribution against her boyfriend. The source said that Lewis attacked her little girl "in an angry rage."
The Thanksgiving incident. KHOU reports that during the Thanksgiving incident, Lewis threatened her son with a knife. Lewis was given 15 months probation for threatening to kill her teenage son.
Representation. Lewis is due back in court later this month. As of now, she does not have legal representation. It is expected that a court-appointed attorney will be made available to her.
The penalty. If convicted, Lewis could face the death penalty. Texas is one of the few states that still imposes capital punishment in some felony cases.
The memorial. A candlelight memorial service was held in Fredericka's honor. Relatives said that there were no words to describe the loss of little Fredericka, let alone at the hands of her own mother.
